The Texas Ranger TR-696FD1 is very similar to the Galaxy DX959. They utilize the same main circuit board and the same chassis. These radios perform very well on AM & SSB, throughout the entire 40 CB channels. With a 6-digit frequency counter SSB operation is a breeze.
